What a way to close . ❤️💙

We gathered in historic Woodworth Chapel for Founders’ Convocation, where Rev. James Perkins, former Mayor of Selma, Alabama, delivered a powerful message to our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends. Thank you, Rev. Perkins, for sharing your wisdom and helping us honor 157 years of Learn. Lead. Serve.

Thank you, President Wiggins, for hosting brunch afterwards, and thank you to everyone who came home and made this Founders’ Week one to remember. Tougaloo Strong, always.

Research on full display during . 🔬

The Kincheloe Annual Research Symposium brought our student scholars to Kincheloe Hall for two days of poster presentations and oral lectures. Students shared their research with faculty, classmates, alumni, and guests, answered tough questions, and showed the curiosity and discipline that define a Tougaloo education.

Thank you to the faculty mentors who guide this work all year, and to everyone who came out to support our scholars. We’re proud of every presenter.

For more than five decades, the Brown-Tougaloo partnership has opened a door into medicine for Tougaloo students. During 157th Founders Week, we celebrated the people who built it and the students it continues to serve. 🩺

We were honored to welcome Dr. Robert F. Smith, thank you for your leadership, your service, and your belief in what Tougaloo students can become. We are grateful to honor you, and to Brown University for 50+ years of partnership.

TOUGALOO FOUNDERS’ WEEK TAILGATE — WEATHER ADVISORY

As we prepare for Saturday’s Founders’ Week Tailgate, Tougaloo College is closely monitoring weather conditions associated with Hurricane Isaias.

At this time, the Tailgate remains scheduled as planned. However, rain and gusty winds are expected in our area.

We encourage all participants to monitor weather updates, secure tents and equipment, exercise caution while traveling and prioritize personal safety.

We will continue to monitor conditions and communicate any necessary updates.

We look forward to welcoming our Tougaloo family home!

Your white coat could start at Tougaloo. 🩺🥼

The Brown-Tougaloo Early Identification Program gives Tougaloo students an early route into Brown’s medical school, before they’ve even finished undergrad. Five decades of Tougaloo graduates have walked that road and become physicians.

Join us TODAY for a conversation with Dr. Robert Smith.

📣 We are keeping an eye on the weather for Saturday’s Founders Week Tailgate. 🦅

Strong winds are possible, so plan with flexibility: bring weights or stakes for tents, and leave loose décor at home.

We’ll share another update by noon Friday, Oct. 9.
