EdAdvance Head Start: Prenatal to Five Providing an array of comprehensive, quality education, health, and social services for children prenatal to five in Litchfield County, CT.

Head Start provides an array of comprehensive, quality services, including health, nutrition, parent support, education, and mental health, to children ages three to five and their families. The program’s vision is “each child and family leaves Head Start healthy, eager to learn, and ready for success.” Program staff work closely with families to ensure that each child has the skills and knowledge

necessary to be successful in kindergarten. The Early Head Start program provides services to infants, toddlers, and pregnant women in Torrington and Winsted through home visiting and socialization.

🎓 Alumni Feature: Meet Derek! 💙
From Head Start to his senior year at Oliver Wolcott Technical High School, Derek has continued to grow into a driven, hardworking, and self-motivated young man. 👏🏼✨ He’s studying auto body, working landscaping after school and throughout the summer, making time for the gym, and earning Honor Roll throughout high school!
After spending some of his childhood in Florida, Derek returned to Connecticut and has loved rediscovering the feeling of home here. 🏡 He also has a love for travel and is looking ahead to college, where he hopes to study business and see where life takes him. 🌎🎓

Stories are meant to be experienced! 📚✨ Last week our staff spent the day learning with Lisa M Shaia and exploring fun, creative ways to bring literacy to life through movement, music, props, and storytelling. Our team even got hands-on creating felt pieces to retell some of their favorite books! 🎨📖 We can’t wait to see these ideas come to life in our classrooms. 💙❤️
