Dear Forbes Families,
As we close out another incredible school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on all that we have accomplished together—and to express our deepest gratitude for your continued support, partnership, and trust.
This year has been nothing short of exceptional. Building on the momentum of last year—when Forbes was named a School of Distinction and ranked 36th out of more than 1,100 schools statewide in student growth—we are proud to share that our students grew even more this year. With record-high academic performance, the most students in our history reaching or exceeding grade-level benchmarks, and numerous perfect scores, we are confident that our ranking—already in the top 3% of all schools in Connecticut for growth—will only rise.
But our success goes far beyond the numbers. We celebrated learning in joyful, meaningful ways: through concerts, field days, fun days, community events, and classroom celebrations. We cheered for students who earned awards, state-level recognition, and even national accolades. Every achievement reflects the dedication of our extraordinary teachers and staff, who show up each day with heart, passion, and an unwavering belief in their students.
This year marks an important transition as we move together to Torrington Intermediate School, and we look forward to continuing this journey with all of you. Our shared commitment to our children’s success—academically, socially, and emotionally—will continue to guide and inspire our work ahead.
We are incredibly proud of our students, our staff, and our families. Together, we’ve built something truly special—and together, we’ll continue to make a lasting impact for the children of Torrington and the entire community.
