I have officially announced my Retirement as of 6/7/2024 - Radiologic Technoloy Program Director & Professor at El Camino College In Torrance California.

CONGRATULATIONS to the ECC RAD TECH ☢️Class of 2020☢️👩🏼‍🎓🧑🏽‍🎓 while this “virtual” ceremony did not feel like the same kind of celebration ~we still WILL HAVE your completion ceremony in the Fall - to celebrate YOU & all that you have accomplished!! Look how far you have come from your first week in the program! 😊. Stay Strong! Stay Healthy😷 & Stay Safe. Waiting till the time we can all be together again. 💕🤗

For the Radiologic Technologist...💕☢️
A Radiologic Technologist does not see one patient or twenty. We see almost EVERY SINGLE PATIENT at some point. We are the front line. Testing for Covid. Need a chest xray, need a CT. Some other pain somewhere else? Let's get an image of that. Put on a ventilator? Put a central line in? Ng tube? Patient fall, altered mental status, ankle hurt for a week. Let's image that. Don't ever assume that Xray techs are safe. Don't think that they aren't in the thick of it. We are involved in the care of every one at some point. We are exposed. To germs, to radiation, to Covid 19. Sometimes we know it and are covered properly. Sometimes we don't know and have done our thing long before a patient is put on isolation precautions. We are also the front line. We are right there, holding hands, praying, comforting families while giving our patients whatever they need to brighten their day, if only for a moment. At the same time, we are putting our skills to use to get the best imaging possible.
When you see an Radiologic (X-Ray)Technologist - thank them for doing what most people don't see. If you are a Rad Tech, CT, Mammo, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, or MRI Tech, be proud of your profession!!!
YOU may be the “invisible” HEROES - But you are ALL SUPER HEROES along with all the other great people in the Health Care TEAM & Essential Workers

I am so worried & so very PROUD of each and every one of you! You are in my thoughts & prayers. Never could I imagine the extreme dangers you would be facing.... You are Strong & Brave & Selfless. Extremely sad day with the shocking news that Carlos Robles - 2nd yr Student (Class of 2020) in the ECC Rad Tech Program passed away in a car accident last night. We are all in a state of shock and disbelief. Carlos earned a BA in Psychology-with honors-from CSU Dominguez Hills prior to joining our program - because he “wanted to help people”. A young man’s life with so much promise cut tragically short. Our heartfelt prayers go out to his family as well. Information is pending on his services as well as a memorial we will be holding at school for him. RIP Carlos. You will be very much missed 😞😢🙏🏻💔
