Emily and Valentina, two MT students, have now taken on a volunteer role as Mentor Tutors' supporters. They arrive early to set up tables and chairs at the beginning of each Saruefay MT session and assist with cleaning up at the end. Recently, they joined forces to support a student with a division question. I am thankful and proud of them. Mentor Tutors will recognize their efforts with an endorsed volunteer certificate from Hope UMC. 😀😀😄

Miss Daun generously gave us two valuable donations - compact Kindles - which will be of great assistance to our MT students. These donations will serve multiple purposes, such as supporting reading programs along with our upcoming plans with Hope volunteer tutors. If you have any unused tablets, please donate to us!

Mentor Tutors' Funday included a Lego competition where participants created monster robots that destroyed buildings and endangered people. A superhero intervened, and ultimately, the people defeated the evil robots. The Lego competition lasted for an hour and was enjoyable, with a prize of a $10 Janba Juice gift card offered to the most creative Lego work. The winner of the competition was Alex Chantes.

Today I confessed Maxine about the truth about the delicious "Shrimp Taco" lasr Saturday.
Even though I attempted to cook it myself, things were not going well, such as when I accidentally poured diet coke into the taco sauce in an effort to add sweetness 😓😅.
Fortunately, Emily's mom was there, watching the cooking process with concern, and she stepped in to save the day. She took care of everything while I just took a picture of the finished product, so all the credit goes to her. (Thank you, Milagru, Emily's mom!)

Mentor Tutors' Summer Preview Camp Finished.
The Mentor Tutors and students had a pleasant time and were able to enjoy shrimp tacos for lunch, thanks to the generous support of the congregation of Hope UMC. We appreciate Walter, Bruce, and Rob for dedicating their gifts and passion to support and care for our HF students.
The kids who attended all three days and completed their homeworks got a certificate and gift!
"Your hard work will always bear fruit!"

Cross of an HF student draw.
A few days ago, a student from Mentor Tutors shyly handed me a cross he drew as the class activity was ending. He was a student who grew up in a non-religious household and we have never preached or explained Christianity in the pretext of not imposing any religious belief. However, he brought the quiet moment and handed me the cross he drew. I didn't know what it was, but it shook my heart with a great and valuable lesson that God is working and carving crosses into students' hearts through the love of Mentor Tutors' volunteers.

Prayer of Mentor Tutors
"I believe that God's love has been faithfully at work in the lives of the students before I even met them. I have been called to be an instrument of God who continues to work richly in their lives, and I obediently respond to this calling with a heart of gratitude. I strive to continue to live faithfully by their side, teaching, encouraging and learning from them to the best of my abilities.
Lord, please consider my weaknesses and make me equipped to serve these precious souls without any deficiency. According to Your protection and guidance, let me love them fully and share with them the light of Christ that dwells within me.
I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen."
