We are excited to announce that we have some new faculty and staff members for this school year. Please welcome them to the Knight family!
Dr. Lauren Guerra is our new Theology teacher. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Guerra earned her doctorate at the Graduate Theological Union in the Bay Area. She has taught for over a decade, most recently in the Department of Chicano Studies at UCLA. She is excited to start her new teaching adventure here at Bishop.
Oscar McBride is our new Physical Education teacher and Head Football Coach. Coach McBride has extensive experience in football, having played at the University of Notre Dame and professionally for the Arizona Cardinals. He has coached football at numerous high schools, most recently at Murrietta Mesa High School.
Lauren Munoz ‘07 is our new Alumni and Events Coordinator. Previously, Ms. Munoz was the Office Administrator at Shanahan Printing, where she oversaw numerous printing projects for Bishop Montgomery. She is so happy to be back at the school that gave her so much as a student.
Gretchen Nobleza is our new Assistant Music Minister. Ms. Nobleza also serves as the Director of Confirmation and Youth Ministry at St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach. She has 12 years of youth ministry and 13 years of music ministry experience.
Eric Torres ‘99 is our new Athletic Director. Mr. Torres has over 20 years of professional leadership experience and competed in football and basketball while at Bishop. He then went on to play football at USC where he earned his BA in International Relations.
Eric Q. Torres is our new Media Center & Office Aide Coordinator and Assistant Football Coach. With 10 years of collegiate and high school coaching experience, he brings a strong background of player development, leadership, game planning, and team building. Mr. Torres is also currently pursuing his second master's in education.
Shauna Witherspoon ‘08 is our new Admissions Assistant. She is an alumna from the class of 2008 with a background in screenwriting from USC. After spending the last decade in the gaming industry as a writer and studio coordinator, she is thrilled to return to the BMHS family in the Admissions Office to help students discover how their own story will unfold at Bishop Montgomery.
Dr. Ben Zhang is our new International Academy Student Services Manager and English Language Learning Teacher. He previously served as the Student Services Manager at Mater Dei High School. Drawing on years of experience working with international students, Dr. Ben provides Amerigo students with guidance and support in their academic, personal, and cultural adjustment.
