Using a walker correctly doesn’t come naturally

Going home for the holidays often brings great joy, as well as great stress. And for adult children who may not have seen their aging parents in a few months, these visits provide an important opportunity to observe their parents’ physical and mental state to determine whether they’re thriving on their own or may require additional help.

Although the holiday season can be fast-paced, make sure your senior doesn’t over exert themselves.
You can prevent this by including down time and encouraging the whole family to join in and participate.
Asking seniors about their holiday memories and traditions is also a fun and easy way to involve them in family social activities.

Once pressed, make crafts with these leaves. Craft ideas range from making a wreath to creating an art collage!

Consider Loved Ones With Dementia
If you have a loved one who displays symptoms of Alzheimer’s or dementia, put their needs at the top of your priorities. In order to help them enjoy Halloween safely:
Avoid leaving them alone for the night
Do not play scary music or loud music in general
Answer the door with them
Prevent them from surprise exposure to what could be considered a “scary costume” in their eyes
