DeClutter Bug

It's the holiday season and a very busy time of year! Do you wish you had more free time? Taking time to strategically declutter your living spaces can and does give you time back in the long run.

It's amazing how such things from simple household chores to entertaining (prep and clean-up) can be accomplished significantly faster when your place is clutter-free and organized!

Are you holding onto boxes of pictures or greeting cards that you can't bear to throw out? They can take up a fair amount of space and most of us don't go through them on a regular basis.
Think about scanning (or photographing) such items! It's the perfect way to keep your cherished cards and pictures while freeing up storage space!

DeCluttering Tip!

Moving or relocating? That is the PERFECT time to declutter! Take advantage of this opportunity to surmise all of your belongings and determine what you need and don't need. And when unpacking all your stuff in your new location, make sure everything is placed somewhere that makes sense ... every item should be in a location where it belongs and should be placed with like items.

DeCluttering Tip!
Feeling overwhelmed by an entire room that needs to be organized? Your entire garage? Your entire house?? When we feel overwhelmed by a project, we tend to procrastinate. Chop your project up into smaller segments that feel more "do-able"!

If an entire room feels too much, select one closet to start with or just a drawer or two.

Seeing the results from those smaller projects will often inspire you to keep going and tackle the next drawer, closet, etc!

Decluttering Opportunity Tip!
Halloween is quickly approaching and I'm sure many of you have gotten into the spirit and put out all your fun Halloween decorations. I like to remind people that decorating for each holiday is a great opportunity to do some decluttering! As you pull out all your decorations (or when you're putting them away post-holiday), do a review of your total inventory and toss or give-away those items that you no longer display, outdated items or those that are now too weather-worn from the elements.
