Big day for the Mountaineer RC Flying Club. Our geotextile runway is finally installed. This project has been years in the making, and after months of planning, coordinating, and hard work, it’s officially done.
We’re thrilled to see it finished, but we also want to take a moment to acknowledge the club members who aren’t here to enjoy it with us. Many of them were part of the conversations, debates, and the vision that led to this runway. Their contributions still echo through our field.
We also want to give a huge thanks to our current members who rolled up their sleeves, donated their time, and pushed this project across the finish line. This project would not have been possible without them.
This runway is for the future of the club, but in many ways a tribute to those who helped get us here.

Had an awesome time at the Hillbillies’ float fly today. Great weather, great company, and plenty of laughs. Sure, we had a few “unexpected water landings” and some creative rescue missions, but that’s all part of the adventure.

Thanks to the Flying Hillbillies for hosting and to everyone who came out. We definitely made some memories out on the water.

The Kanawha Valley RC Swap Meet is THIS Saturday!

We’re just days away from the Kanawha Valley RC Swap Meet, and we can’t wait to see everyone on Saturday, February 28 at the Coonskin Park Clubhouse in Charleston.

Open to the public: 10 AM – 3 PM
Admission: $5

If you’ve been thinking about picking up a new project, finding parts, selling gear, or just hanging out with fellow RC enthusiasts, this is a great place to be. Expect airplanes, cars, trucks, drones, boats, radios, electronics, parts, and more.

Seller setup starts at 8 AM
Tables: $20 for the first, $15 each additional
Raffles and giveaways all day ($1 tickets)
