🐾 Wildcats Are Leaders! Earlier this fall, Toppen*sh High School students Sofia Mendoza, Evelyn Brito, Kailani Simbajon, Maite Fajardo, and Jose Marquez attended the "Leading Strong ASB Programs" workshop at YVCC in Yakima!

These student leaders explored important topics, including governance and leadership roles, financial stewardship, fundraising and community partnerships, and protecting their ASB program. They'll bring these valuable skills and ideas back to THS to help build an even stronger ASB program!

Leadership starts with finding your voice, advocating for yourself and others, and taking an active role in shaping your school community. These Wildcats are doing just that by building the skills and confidence to represent their peers, strengthen school culture, and create opportunities for student voices to be heard!

We're proud of these Wildcats for stepping up, taking initiative, and helping make THS an even better place for all students!

Yesterday, Kirkwood Elementary welcomed Rowley & Hawkins Farm for a special celebration of Washington's Apple Crunch Day!

Each year on October 7, schools across the state take a BIG bite out of an apple to celebrate local agriculture, the hardworking people behind our farms, and the healthy, delicious food they provide for our communities. Since we were on fall break, Kirkwood joined the celebration yesterday!

Students learned that Washington grows dozens of apple varieties and that apples are one of our state's most important agricultural crops along with onions, cherries, and w**e grapes!

Then, on the count of THREE... CRUNCH! 🍎Students took a big bite out of delicious Ambrosia apples generously donated by Rowley & Hawkins Farm!

A huge THANK YOU to Rowley & Hawkins Farm and all our local farmers and agricultural workers who help feed our communities and support our local economy! 🍏

October is National Principals Month, and we are proud to celebrate the incredible school leaders who help make Team Toppen*sh stronger every day!

As the leaders of their schools, our principals wear many hats. They are role models, advisors, trusted confidants, instructional leaders, problem-solvers, visionaries and so much more. They support staff, students, families and colleagues while helping create the conditions for our schools to run smoothly and our Wildcats to thrive.

Their work often happens behind the scenes, but the impact is felt throughout every classroom, hallway and school community.

We are grateful for their leadership, dedication and commitment throughout October and every day of the year.

Toppen*sh High School’s Trunk or Treat is coming up on October 31, and we’re looking for more families, businesses, organizations, and community members to decorate a trunk and join the fun!

🎓 Exploring possibilities and making connections are important steps in preparing for what comes next! Earlier this week, THS hosted a College and Career Fair, giving our Wildcats the opportunity to learn more about the many pathways available after high school.

Connecting with colleges, local employers, and community partners gives our students a chance to ask questions, discover new opportunities, and begin building a path toward their future.

Thank you to THS for creating this valuable opportunity for our students and helping our Wildcats be Ready for Tomorrow! 🐾
