Today our students stepped back in time to Colonial America!
After reading the story of a young girl living in Jamestown, they worked together to design and build their own model of the settlement. There was planning, problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, and plenty of discussion along the way.
This is what Summer Learning Labs are all about: bringing history, science, literature, and geography to life through hands-on experiences that students actually remember.
🇺🇸 Next week we'll continue our Road Trip Across America as we head west to explore famous landmarks, national parks, historical figures, and the unique regions that make our country so fascinating.
It's not too late to join us!

What exactly is a microschool?
It's a question I get asked a lot.
A microschool is a small learning community where students receive individualized support, build meaningful relationships, and have the flexibility to learn in ways that work for them.
With small group sizes, every child is truly known. We can celebrate their strengths, support their challenges, and help them grow in confidence.
Many of the families who find us have children who are bright, creative, capable learners but haven't thrived in a traditional school setting. They aren't looking for less learning—they're looking for a different approach.
That's what we're building at Journey Microschool.
Would your child benefit from a smaller, more personalized learning environment?
I'd love to answer your questions about our program for the 2026-2027 school year.

Not all kids thrive in big settings.
Some children do great in a classroom of 25 students.
Others get lost in the crowd.
They're not failing. They're not lazy. They're not "problem kids."
They may just need something different.
A smaller group.
More meaningful relationships.
A chance to be known by their teachers.
A learning environment where confidence can grow alongside academics.
Over the years, I've met so many bright, creative, capable kids who were quietly struggling—not because they couldn't learn, but because their learning environment wasn't the right fit.
That's one of the reasons we're building Gatherpoint Learning and Journey Microschool.
Because every child deserves a place where they can belong, be supported, and discover what they're capable of.
If you've ever felt like your child is getting lost in the crowd, I'd love to talk with you.

Every child deserves an environment where they can thrive.
I've been supporting non-traditional learners for over 15 years. What started as a home daycare, grew into a formal preschool, then we added a homeschool co-op and continued to grow into a microschool. I've taught kids ages 2-18 (not all at the same time!) And have discovered my favorite age group is middle & high school!
Now, Gatherpoint Learning Microschool serves students in grades 3-8. We have 2 experienced adults to guide your students through all of the core subjects and we provide opportunities for additional elective classes like music!
