Monarch butterfly ‘washes ashore’ for second piece of Topeka Zoo art project Students from Topeka Public Schools collaborated to make a Monarch Butterfly sculpture stationed in the NOTO Arts Center.

Les recordamos que este año hay un cambio en el calendario del distrito para los últimos días de clases:

Miércoles, 20 de mayo
• ÚLTIMO DÍA para estudiantes de PreK–4.º grado
• DÍA COMPLETO de clases (Horario regular)
• Salida regular a las 3:40 p.m.

¡Por favor ayúdenos a correr la voz para que los estudiantes de PreK–4.º grado NO lleguen a la escuela el jueves, 21 de mayo!

Jueves, 21 de mayo
🎓 SOLO asistirán los estudiantes de 5.º grado
• Las puertas abrirán para los estudiantes a las 8:20 a.m., como de costumbre.
• Los autobuses correrán sus rutas normalmente.

🎉 La Promoción de 5.º grado comenzará a las 10:00 a.m.
• Las puertas abrirán para las familias a las 9:45 a.m.
• Por favor lleguen a tiempo para evitar tener que esperar hasta después de la procesión para entrar al gimnasio.
• Los estudiantes de 5.º grado podrán retirarse con sus familias después de la promoción.
• La salida será a las 11:30 a.m.

🚌 Habrá transporte en autobús después de la salida para cualquier estudiante de 5.º grado que no se retire con su familia después de la promoción.

🚨 Important End-of-Year Schedule Reminder 🚨

Just a reminder about the district schedule change this year for the last days of school:

Wednesday, May 20
• LAST DAY for PreK–4th grade students
• FULL DAY of school (Regular Schedule)
• Regular dismissal at 3:40 p.m.

Please help us spread the word so that PreK–4th grade students do not arrive at school on Thursday, May 21.

Thursday, May 21
🎓 5TH GRADE ONLY attends school
• Doors will open to students at 8:20 a.m. as usual.
• Buses will run routes as usual.

🎉 5th Grade Promotion begins at 10:00 a.m.
• Doors will open to families at 9:45 a.m.
• Please arrive on time to avoid having to wait until after the procession to enter the gym.
• 5th graders may leave with their families after promotion.
• Dismissal is at 11:30 a.m.

🚌 Bus transportation WILL be available after dismissal on Thursday for any 5th grade student who is not leaving with family following promotion.

We are so proud of you and of all the students who completed the dual language program and earned the Seal of Biliteracy. Your hard work, perseverance, and commitment to bilingualism are incredible accomplishments. Way to go! 🎓💙💛

¡Felicidades a la Clase 2026 de Topeka High! Este año se siente especialmente significativo para nuestra familia de Scott, ya que dos miembros de nuestro personal tuvieron hijos que se graduaron. Estamos muy orgullosos de ustedes y de todos los estudiantes que completaron el programa de lenguaje dual y obtuvieron el Sello de Bilingüismo. Have you been wondering where we were all Teacher Appreciation Week? Well… we took our teachers on “Vacay in May!” ☀️🌴✈️

This year’s theme was all about treating our teachers, having fun, and of course — enjoying great food together! We truly could not do what we do without our incredible staff, and we are so grateful to have the very best teachers here at Scott Dual Language.

Thank you, teachers, for everything you do each and every day for our students and families. Your love, dedication, and hard work do not go unnoticed. 💛

And a huge thank you to our amazing parents and community sponsors for helping make Teacher Appreciation Week so special. Your generosity and support mean so much to all of us!

¿Se han estado preguntando dónde estuvimos durante toda la Semana de Apreciación a los Maestros? Bueno… ¡llevamos a nuestros maestros de “Vacay in May”! ☀️🌴✈️

El tema de este año fue consentir a nuestros maestros, divertirnos y, por supuesto, disfrutar de mucha comida deliciosa juntos. Realmente no podríamos hacer lo que hacemos sin nuestro increíble personal, y estamos muy agradecidos de tener a los mejores maestros aquí en Scott Dual Language.

Gracias, maestros, por todo lo que hacen cada día por nuestros estudiantes y familias. Su amor, dedicación y esfuerzo no pasan desapercibidos. 💛
