🚧 It Begins...
For decades, the Don Turner Gymnasium has been the backdrop for some of our community's favorite memories. Basketball games. School plays. School assemblies. Parish celebrations. And, of course, Coach Don Turner's unforgettable gym classes.
This summer marks the beginning of a new chapter.
While work has already begun with new windows at our Most Pure Heart of Mary KCDC Preschool, the gymnasium renovation is just around the corner. In the coming weeks, crews will begin replacing the gym windows, followed by the installation of air conditioning. The goal is to have this phase completed just in time to welcome students back for the new school year.
None of this would be possible without the incredible generosity of our alumni, parishioners, families, and friends. Because of you, we've already raised $148,557 toward our campaign!
But we're not finished yet.
Our first milestone is $215,000, which will fully fund Phase One—new windows and air conditioning. Beyond that, we'll continue working toward new bleachers, ceiling repairs, fresh paint, and potentially even stage sound and lighting improvements.
Over the next several weeks, we'll be sharing construction updates, favorite Don Turner memories, and stories from alumni whose lives were shaped inside these walls.
Because this project isn't just about renovating a gym.
It's about continuing the legacy Coach Turner built and ensuring this special place continues serving generations of Bobcats to come.
💙💛 Follow along, share your favorite memories, and help us build the future of MPHM—one story at a time.
