A new semester means new opportunities, new connections, and plenty of chances to grow. We’re excited to have our students back on campus and ready for another great year at the Washburn Brenneman School of Business!

This past weekend, the Brenneman School of Business Graduate Programs was thrilled to welcome 32 new MBA and MAcc students at our annual new graduate student orientation. We also held an afternoon summer picnic for BSB alumni and friends to help welcome the new cohort.

Last week, we were thrilled to initiate another group of top students to our honors societies, Beta Gamma Sigma and Beta Alpha Psi. They are pictured here with Dean Sollars, and our 2026 alumni honoree, Brian Lang.

Congratulations to Dr. Tom Hickman! 🎉 At last week's Awards and Recognition luncheon, he was awarded the 2026 Kaw Valley Bank Excellence in Research Award!

Congratulations to Professor Rick LeJuerrne! 👏 He was honored with the Dicus Excellence in Teaching Award at last week's awards luncheon! The Dicus Award is chosen by student body and is named for and made possible by the generosity of long-time Topekans Jack and Betty Dicus.

Dean Sollars loves having alumni speakers visit, but he really loves it when they are his former students. He was especially thrilled yesterday having Katharine Hunter (BBA ‘06) speak at our annual awards luncheon. Hope she visits us again soon!
