Professional Martial Arts

This is what I love about martial arts. I met Karel last year in Las Vegas at an AMAA event hosted by Jessie Bowen. We had an immediate connection since he is from my wife’s home country of the Czech Republic.

I reached out to him this summer while we were in Prague, and he and his father immediately arranged plans to drive an hour into the city to pick us up, take us to their hometown, visit their Dojo, treat us to lunch, and then coffee in their home afterwards. Incredibly hospitable like many Martial Artists are.

It was great to connect with them on this level. Very impressive young man, if you don’t know him, look him up 🙂. He even agreed to be interviewed for my podcast on “growth,” second one interviewed, first episode will be released soon. 3,2,1…Let’s Grow!

I had the honor of participating in this “White Belt to Wisdom” book with a superb list of other martial artists. Life, leadership and business, I wrote a chapter titled "The Business of You."

I just finished reading the whole book, and I am always amazed by the synergy of principles and viewpoints of successful martial artist.

A few pics from the black belt ceremony / promotions last weekend. These individuals are a true representation of the martial arts. Very proud of all of them.

Surprise visit from Sensei Robert Lewis Monday night. Starting at the age of five, he was the only student that got all the way through Black belt that came up through our federally funded “Weed and Seed” program years ago. A true statistic 🙂 Great to see him, and hoping he’ll be in some future classes as well!
