See an emergency or hazard at a railroad crossing? Find the Blue and White Emergency Notification System sign.

Call the number on the sign and provide the crossing ID so the railroad knows the exact location. No sign? Call 911.

Senior portrait and back-to-school photo season is here. A reminder for photographers and families: tracks are never a photo set. Tracks are private property. Trains can run on any track at any time from either direction, and they are quieter and faster than you think.

Choose a safe location. No photo is worth the risk.

Harvest season means more farm equipment near railroad crossings. Low-clearance equipment can get stuck on the tracks.

Look for the Low Ground Clearance sign and cross only when you can clear the tracks completely.

If you get stuck, get out, get away and call the number on the Blue and White sign.

1. Get out of your car and away from the tracks immediately (even if you do not see a train)
2. Locate the Blue and White Emergency Notification System sign
3. Call the number provided for help
