The Whitson Warriors celebrated their school year today and we got to be part of it. The lemonade day winners were announced and celebrated at an all school assembly.

These teams were top earners and all around all stars! 🤩

We can’t wait to do this again next year!! 🍋

Yesterday we had the opportunity to share a little about our teaching apprenticeship program with the KS State Board of Education.

Mrs. Jones gave a summary of all things earned and accomplished this year…the list is LONG!

Jawan and Marley offered some inspiring reflections on their school year and shared their excitement about becoming teachers in just a few short years.

We are incredibly grateful for the partners who helped make this work possible, including Washburn Tech, Kansas-WorkforceONE, Kansas Department of Commerce and Dr. Gillaspie at the Kansas State Department of Education.

The future of education is bright!

The Stay785 Grant, led by Topeka Youth Commission and supported by Forge Young Talent, empowers local youth to bring their ideas to life and create meaningful impact across Topeka and Shawnee County.

Special thank you to the Topeka Community Foundation for funding this initiative and investing in the future of our region’s young people.

Youth ages 12–21 can apply for up to $2,000 to lead projects that improve and energize our community. From public art and beautification projects to local events, leadership programs, and modernizing community spaces, this grant is about putting ideas into action.

This initiative is all about giving young people the opportunity to decide what they want to see in Topeka and helping make it happen.

📍 Eligibility: Ages 12–21 in Topeka/Shawnee County
💡 Must be youth-directed with a supporting organization

Today is the day, come get your Lemonade from 4-6pm at Hummer sports park. 10 stands will be outside the track, softball and baseball diamonds, you don't have to pay any admission to come to the Lemonade stands. Our youth entrepreneurs would appreciate your support!
