Let's give a big round of applause to our University Band, University Jazz, and Topeka New Horizons Band for a fabulous concert on Monday night! 🎶

Here are some action shots of our instrumental music education seniors conducting the Topeka New Horizons Band at the start of the concert. We are so proud of each of you for stepping out of your comfort zones, taking the podium, and leading with confidence and musicality. Conducting is no small task, and you rose to the challenge with dedication, growth, and heart.

It’s been incredible to watch your journey, and Monday was a reflection of all the hard work you’ve put in. The future of music education is in great hands - bravo! 👏

We welcomed over 200 band students from all across the state to our campus last week for our annual High School Honor Band event. This year’s bands were led by guest conductors Dr. Tom Davoren from Benedictine College and Dr. Melissa Sawyer from the University of Kansas. It was an amazing day filled with joy, learning, and music-making for everyone!

Our participants also got to work with our fabulous winds, brass, and percussion faculty during sectionals 🎷🎺🥁
