Topeka Literacy Council, founded in 1967, helps adults learn to read and write to improve their econo Topeka Literacy Council is staffed entirely by volunteers.
As a member of ProLiteracy America (www.proliteracy.org), our motto is "Each One Teach One." One tutor is matched with one student. Tutoring occurs in an individualized, private setting, not a group or classroom setting. There is no charge for tutoring services. We ask that students purchase their books (usually $11-$15 per book) if they are able to do so. TLC does not identify, diagnosis, or treat learning disabilities.
