From Mr. Brad Jones:
Beginning next school year, Seaman High School will implement updated expectations for student personal electronic device use in accordance with Kansas state law.
During the academic day — from the start of 1st hour until dismissal — students may not use or access personal electronic devices, including cell phones, smart watches, wireless earbuds/headphones, tablets, and similar devices. Devices must be turned off and stored in a locker or vehicle during the school day unless specifically authorized by administration.
To support these expectations, student lockers will be off limits during the school day unless a student has permission from a principal.
These expectations apply in all school areas, including classrooms, hallways, and restrooms, and are intended to support student learning, engagement, and a focused school environment.
Students may continue to use personal electronic devices before school and after dismissal as long as usage is appropriate and does not disrupt the school environment.
Additional reminders:
Students are discouraged from bringing valuable personal electronic devices to school.
The school is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged devices.
School office phones will remain available for urgent or necessary communication.
