⏰ Running late? In a hurry to get home?
Speeding won't save as much time as you think. It can lead to a ticket, extra wear on your vehicle, and less time to react to what's happening on the road.
🚗 Slow down. Stay focused. Speed limits aren't suggestions.
SAFE Kansas
The goal of SAFE is to increase seatbelt usage among students while providing traffic safety messages throughout the school year.
SAFE (Seatbelts Are For Everyone) is a free, student-led program for middle and high school students focusing on peer-to-peer promotion of traffic safety. Through education, rewards, and enforcement, SAFE highlights the importance of wearing a seatbelt, driving alert, and following traffic laws with the goal of decreasing the number of teen injuries and deaths from vehicle crashes.

We love seeing this! Remind your classmates that phones should be put away before they drive!

Last week, we recognized Stop on Red Week, a reminder that stopping at red lights saves lives. As students head back to school this week, that same message applies to school bus stop arms.
🛑 Stop Means Stop.
As school buses return to their routes, please give yourself a little extra time and stay alert during your morning commute.
A few reminders:
-When a school bus has its stop arm extended and lights flashing, stop. It's the law and helps protect students as they get on and off the bus.
-Expect a few delays. School traffic is back, and you might even catch a train along the way. Planning ahead can help reduce the morning rush.
-Slow down and be patient. A few extra minutes is worth helping ensure every student arrives at school safely.
-Stay off those electronic devices! It takes just a second to change you or someone else's life if you are not paying attention to the road.
Let's make this school year a safe one by watching for buses, obeying traffic laws, and remembering that every stop matters.
Kansas high school students in the SAFE program help shape traffic safety initiatives across the state!
