Biology Tailgaters...Unfortunately, there will be no tailgate this Saturday, Oct 18. Next week, I'll let you all know our plans for a Homecoming tailgate on Oct 25th.

The biology department faculty and staff are ready for the Fall 2025 semester! Looking forward to meeting the new Ichabods, reconnecting with returning Ichabods, and best preparing them for future successes at Washburn University and beyond!

Here is the schedule for the upcoming WU Biology Department Tailgates. Please stay tuned for Individual Event Posts as the Tailgates arrive, but for now, SAVE THESE DATES!

Biology Tailgates (Saturdays)
1. Aug 30 v. Truman State University (11:00 AM food; 1:00 PM game)

2. Sep 6 v. Northwest Missouri State University (11:00 AM food; 1:00 PM game)

3. Sep 27 v. University of Nebraska at Kearney on Family Day (11:00 AM food; 1:00 PM game)

4. Oct 18 v. University of Central Missouri on Hall of Fame Day (11:30 AM food; 2:00 PM game)

5. Oct 25 v. Fort Hays State University on Homecoming Day (11:00 AM food; 1:00 PM game)

6. Nov 8 v. Emporia State University on Senior Day (11:00 AM food; 1:00 PM game)

Please note that we will not be hosting our regular Biology Department tailgate this Saturday, October 19.

We will see you again in 2 weeks at the HOMECOMING tailgate co-hosted with the Washburn University Political Science Department on Saturday, November 2nd!

When? Wednesday, March 6, 4:30 - 6:30 PM

Where? Stoffer Science Hall (North Lobby 1st floor) - Stoffer is located in the northeast section of campus near the intersection of 17th Street and Washburn Avenue.

Who? High school students and their parents/guardians who are interested in biology are invited to join us!

Why? To learn about our biology degree programs, tour our facilities, learn about scholarship opportunities, and REGISTER to win a scholarship drawing!

We hope to see you next Wednesday evening!

Today, the Washburn University Department of Biology Faculty and Staff celebrated our Spring and Summer 2020 Graduates via a Virtual Senior Send Off Celebration (enjoy the video). We also recognized our 2020-2021 Scholarship recipients. It was a surreal but great way to cap off the Spring semester. We wish our graduates all the best in their future endeavors and hope they will stay in touch and let us know about their doings. Congrats, graduates! We're proud of you and your accomplishments.
