Hayden High School, Topeka, Kansas

and supporters from the nine Catholic parishes in the greater Topeka area. The Hayden Community receives strong parental and alumni support from the Parents and Alumni for Catholic Education (PACE), an organization that was initiated in 1977. PACE's two major fundraisers include the annual auction and Bingo on Thursday and Saturday evenings. PACE income supports the Hayden annual fund. In addition, the Buhler family Scholarship and the Father Pete O'Sullivan Scholarships are funded through the efforts of PACE. The Hayden Board of Trustees was formed in 1996. The Board establishes policies for the school and is responsible for financial oversight and long term planning. The Board establishes guidelines for cultivating and administering; corporate giving, grants, major gifts, estate legacies, family scholarships, the annual fund and Christmas appeal. The Hayden Foundation was developed in 1997. The Foundation Board is charged with managing the endowed resources of Hayden and cultivating additional gifts. In 1999 the Foundation established the Jack Caldwell Society for donors who have made provisions to include Hayden in their estate plans. Encouraged by the success of scholarship programs established by the, Morrisey, and Sabatini families and the Tom and Helen Schwartz Foundation, the Hayden Foundation Board established the Family Scholarship Program in 2007. This program allows donors to perpetually recognize their family with an endowed scholarship. The Hayden School Council advises the Principal on matters of daily operation of the school. Each of the parishes in Topeka is represented by two members on the Council. Non voting members include representatives from the school faculty Student Council, and the PACE organization.
