Living Transmissions of Ancient Archetypes

After a lifetime of study, more than twenty years of consultation and teaching, and the encouragement of my teachers, I’m delighted to share Navagraha Kathā.

Long before the Grahas became objects of technique and prediction, the Ṛṣis knew them through direct cognition. Their stories were preserved and passed from teacher to student through an unbroken oral tradition.

The Grahas are living intelligences. Through the lens of Viṣṇu's Avatāras, animal yonis, and the vidyā preserved in Itihāsa, Purāṇa, and Yoga Śāstra, we are invited into a deeper relationship with the Grahas, revealing the underlying architecture of our embodied reality.

We will begin with the Grahas, the foundation of Jyotiṣa itself. Navagraha Kathā is intended both for those beginning their study and for seasoned practitioners seeking to deepen their relationship with the Grahas through story, symbolism, and living tradition.

Together, we will explore the stories, symbolism, and living wisdom of the Navagrahas, uncovering their relevance not only within the birth chart, but within the unfolding of our lives—and awakening the same creative intelligence through which they have always been known.

JUPITER ENTERS CANCER | 06.01 – 10.31

Jupiter returns to Karka Rāśi through the Vedic lunar mansion of Punarvasu. On June 18th, Guru enters Puṣya Nakṣatra, stepping into his uccha (exaltation) point within the heart of Cancer. Known as the Star of Nourishment, Puṣya is the seat of Bṛhaspati—the preceptor of the gods and speaker of the prayer.

Jupiter, the planet of expansion, intelligence, wisdom, magnetism, counsel, divine strategy, sound (śabda), speech (vāk), invocation, mantra, and music, is Jīva Karaka—the significator of life itself.

Within the Vedic worldview, knowing unfolds as remembrance—a return to the source. Awareness moves like a river shaped by breath, time, and attention, carrying memory back toward the Self. Here, Jyotiṣa is approached as yogic sādhanā: a sacred science for discerning the subtle currents through which prāṇa refines perception into lived experience.

From the Vedas and Yoga Śāstra to the Purāṇas and epics, wisdom was transmitted through story, symbol, and contemplative vision—forming a living continuum where cognition, devotion, and direct perception converge. Through this lineage, the pathways of the Sun and Moon are not merely studied, but remembered and embodied.

The New Moon अमावस्या of April arises in Aśvinī अश्विनी (sidereal Aries), the Vedic lunar mansion known as the Star of Transport—governing movement, as well as the subtle passage between states of being.

Aśvinī stands at the threshold—where one state dissolves and another has not yet fully formed—making it a potent gateway for transition, initiation, and swift reorientation of the path.
