PTA CHALK RUN & PLAY CLUB

CHALK RUN
The chalk run is a cash donation fundraiser that ends with the chalk run on Sept. 22.. Register your child for their online donation page and share with family and friends. Earn prizes by raising money. This is the PTA's fundraiser for the year. If you have any questions contact the front office 435-833-1906.

LET GROW PLAY CLUB
We are excited to start the Let Grow Play Club on Wednesdays starting September 9 at 12:30-1:45. We had so much fun with this last year and are excited to start playing this year. Attached is a link to sign your child/children up as well as a sign up sheet to volunteer to take a turn supervising for the day. We need help spreading out the responsibility so it isn't on 2-3 people.

What is Play Club?
Mixed ages

Unstructured free play & socializing, in-person

Supervised by adults, acting as “lifeguards”

Screen-free

“Loose parts” approach (we bring out materials from the gym closet)

KIDS ARE:

organizing their own games and activities

learning to solve the inevitable spats

off their electronic devices, and instead, engaging in real-world face-to-face experiences and making friends!

SUPERVISORS ARE:

keeping an eye out for real dangers but otherwise refraining from interfering with children’s activities

Play Club Rules:
1. Play respectfully: Do not deliberately hit or physically hurt anyone.

2. Get permission to leave the grounds.

5th/6th grade band/orchestra is starting soon. A parent square has been sent out with this information.
6th grade student council applications are now available from any 6th grade teacher.

We are starting a new attendance procedure:
Middle Canyon Attendance Bucks

Attendance Bucks are a schoolwide incentive designed to encourage students to be present, on time, and ready to learn each day.

Consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in student success, and Attendance Bucks help us celebrate that commitment.

Earning Attendance Bucks
Students earn one Attendance Buck each day when they:
- Arrive at school on time
- Remain at school for the entire school day

Important Reminders
● Students who arrive late do not earn an Attendance Buck for that day.
● Students who leave before the end of the school day do not earn an Attendance Buck for that day.
● Students who are absent, including those with an excused absence, do not earn an attendance Buck for that day.

The goal is to reward students for being present and engaged throughout the entire school day.

Students can spend their Attendance Bucks at the Meerkat Market.

Tooele County School District Child Nutrition will serve free summer lunches from June 1 through July 31, 2026.

Free meals are available to all children and teens ages 18 and younger.
No meals will be served on July 4 or July 24.

Meal service time:
Monday through Friday, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

Wendover
• Anna Smith Elementary
Grantsville
• Cherry Street Park
• Willow Elementary
Stansbury Park
• Rose Springs Elementary
Tooele
• Elton Park
• England Acres Park
• Northlake Elementary
• Overlake Elementary
• Rancho Park
• Tooele City Park

Important Friday Update:
On Fridays, Wendover and Tooele locations will offer free take-home lunches for Saturday and Sunday.

USDA Guidelines:
Children must be present to receive meals, and meals must be eaten on-site.

Adult meals: $5 each

We are stomping out to***co this week at Middle Canyon! A huge shout out to our BTS Art Teacher, Amber Fabrizio, for helping the kids to stomp out to***co by designing their own shoe!

Students will be doing a duck hunt, trivia, and an obstacle course in P.E. this week to teach them about the negative effects of to***co and va**ng on their bodies and minds.

Please talk to your students this week about the harmful effects of Tobacco/Vaping products.
