I am thankful that recently a mom and son, were okay in Stansbury, after getting hit on their way to Bonneville Academy. The last name was Winn... I wonder if they are related to the Mayor of Tooele City who is still breaking MUTCD laws at Scholar. All elementary schools should indeed have a school zone. They are public schools and deserve the safety in place. Certainly they can afford one now that our taxes have tripled over the last two years!

I saw 5 children almost get hit walking across the street yesterday. I can't believe the mayor and chief of police still have not followed state and federal mutcd laws this far in to a school. And there is a higher traffic flow on that road. And as a bonus no one ever drives 25 mph.

Heading to the city council meeting tonight at City Hall. Why, to continue to talk about implementing a school zone for the safety of Scholar Academy kids, for the upcoming school year. if anyone wants to join, it starts at 7 p.m.

This has to be by far one of the saddest things I have to post! Apparently one of our students was hit, and injured out side of our school this week! The police came and someone was cited. This is why I am very adamant about holding the chief of police and mayor accountable for following state and federal laws, regarding our full school zone at Scholar Academy. We are now 5 1/2 years past due a full school zone! Please keep this child and family in your dearest thoughts. Also, please join me in continuing to fight the good fight!

I went to our school board meeting today to hopefully initiate more advocacy for our full school zone. Not just from the board of educators, but Scholar staff, and parents. All help initiating our full school zone and proper signage per law, would be most helpful, please? Together we can do amazing things!

I guess the mayors idea, of denying us a school zone, based off of us being a charter school, is out the window! UTAH STATE MUTCD LAWS 7A.05 04
Charter Schools are considered public schools! Not to mention all other state laws we meet as a publically tax payer funded school.
