HOMECOMING PARADE UPDATE

Due to the inclement weather and lightning in the area, today’s Homecoming Parade has been canceled to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community.

Students participating in the parade should be picked up from the staging area as soon as possible.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and flexibility as we make the safest decision for our students. We know this is a special Homecoming tradition, and we are disappointed that the weather has prevented us from celebrating together today.

We are excited for our Homecoming Parade today! However, due to the risk of lightning in the area, we want to ensure all parents and families are prepared for changing weather conditions.

If lightning is detected within 10 miles of the staging area or parade route, we will need to cancel the parade for the safety of our students and participants.

If the parade has not yet started, students will remain at the staging area, and parents will need to pick them up there. We want everyone to know that we DO NOT have access to the church building at the staging area, and students would need to be picked up promptly.

If the parade has already started, we will quickly and safely move students along the parade route to Tooele High School. In this scenario, parents should be prepared to meet their students at the high school.

Parents, please stay close to the staging area and remain available to pick up your student if necessary. Parents will not be able to park in the staging-area parking lot, so please plan accordingly.

We will communicate any changes as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and help in keeping our students safe while we celebrate Homecoming!
