Did you hear about our assembly today? The PTA threw bags of chalk at our custodian Mr. Ty because we’re excited to announce that next week we will be having our very first Chalk Run! It will be Wednesday the 19th at 5:00 in our school field. Admission is free. Everyone is welcome. Chalk bags are $2 each. Sunglasses are $1. And tickets are $1 each and will be used to pay for face painting the concessions. We will have nachos and hotdogs, water and soda, chips and treats and more. Tomorrow we will start the spirit day competition. Every Friday wear red, black, white, or your coyote apparel to show your school spirit. We will be keeping track of the participation totals. The last Friday of the month the class with the most school spirit will receive a prize.

Please join our PTA. By becoming a member you help us stay in good standings with the Utah and national PTA. This helps us qualify for extra resources, programs and help for our PTA and ability to apply for grants. A membership is only $6 and with it you get a discount card to several local restaurants and stores. When you sign up to become a member you are not signing up to volunteer. That is completely separate. But please consider volunteering. Many hands make light work and all are welcome. You’re welcome to join anytime. We want to thank everyone for making our last fundraiser of the year such a huge success. We raised over $1500 last week during the Penny Wars! All of that will be used to pay for field day (which is tomorrow). We are very grateful to Tooele Gymnastics Academy for donating our prizes. And congratulations to our winners Mrs. Yarbrough’s and Mrs. Burket’s class.

It’s back! Our first spring Pop Up Shop is TOMORROWS! It will be held on different days now but we will still have the snacks and treats that the kids love. And remember that all proceeds will help pay for a field trip buses, all the art supplies the kids use in their art class, field day and many other PTA sponsored activities. We wanted to say thank you one more time for all the participation we had with our Valentine’s fundraiser. We were able to raise enough money to have our current ball cart professionally fixed by a welder and fill it with new jump ropes, hula hoops, skip it’s, and lots and lots of balls. The kids were so excited to have new things to play with at recess. We love seeing our kids so happy.

Are PTA just paid for the buses for two more field trips. Our kindergartners and our sixth graders will be going on field trips later this year. Each of these grades has over 60 students and requires two buses to transport their grade. Did you know that every time our students go on a field trip that our PTA spends $400 per bus? We just paid for four buses. That’s over $12 a student and $1,600 total for these two field trips. It takes a tremendous amount of time and effort to earn that money. So thank you to everyone who has donated you our PTA or participated in our fundraisers this year. And please continue to contribute to our PTA. We are always in need of monetary and time donations. It really does mean so much to our children to have these opportunities.
