And that's a preschool wrap! Today was all about having a good time, lots of games! We started with a game called "What do you like" which is a simplified version of "Do you love your neighbor?" Then we played sharks and minnows. After all that running, we had a candy necklace treat. It was then free play which consisted of the sandbox, pretend dance recitals, tag games and other play. After it was snack and storytime. The day ended with practicing our preschool songs and spelling our names!

The day started with sidewalk chalk, duck, duck, goose (with a remix) and a jumping game called "crossing the river." After these games, we reviewed some of our preschool songs then went to the backyard for free play. The kids needed to be defrosted, so we went inside for snack, books and a game called "Guess Who" which is all about guessing the preschool friend that made a mystery noise. The day ended with dancing and movement videos!

Today was our field day so we were outside the whole time, the wind couldn't stop us! The day started with sidewalk chalk, we drew our body outlines to color. Then we reviewed the songs we are going to sing at our end of year celebration. It was then "duck, duck, goose" but with an extra flare đŸ˜€ and a jumping game called "crossing the river!" After these activities we were in the backyard for free play. We enjoyed snack and 3 of Ms Sandy's favorite books (I had to fit them in before the end of the year.) The kiddos ended the day with popsicles and the last of our field day games-I hope they are worn out!

Today was all about the letter I for Ice cream! We introduced the letter of the day, sang some songs and reviewed counting to 20. I think the kids are getting ready for summer.... We had a bit more contention today than usual. We took the time to review kind/unkind words, how words can hurt feelings or make us feel good inside, and other emotional/social skills we are trying to develop. It was a good reminder to Ms. Sandy of why preschool is so important! We had handwriting practice and free play. During free play the kiddos spent some one on one time with me doing some end of year assessments. Quick assessments to show us what amazing things we have learned this year. That's what I try to focus on, look at all we've learned! The day ended with our ice cream party and 2 ice cream stories!

Today was all about Ice cream for the letter I! We started off learning our new letter and reviewing some songs and numbers. We then had handwriting practice and free play. Today during free play, the kiddos met one on one with Ms. Sandy for some assessments. I try to focus on how this is an opportunity to see how many amazing things the kids have learned in preschool, and the kids have learned a lot (cognitive, social, emotional) it's fun to see the growth! We then were upstairs for ice cream stories (perhaps your child can sing to you about doggy ice cream) and of course eating ice cream! After filling our bellies, we had a fun ice cream project. We turned plain vanilla (Cotton balls) into exciting new flavors!

Yesterday was our "look what I've learned day!" We received extra free play time so that Ms. Sandy could work with each kiddo individually and assess what they've learned this year! We praised each other and thought about all the things we can "do by ourselves" now! We played a fun sidewalk chalk game at the end of the day to help us review letters.

Today we reviewed and tested some skills! We reviewed our alphabet, counting to 20, how to spell our names and some songs we have learned this year. We had indoor free play today, snack and read, "The Pout Pout Fish." We then played some fun review games including an outdoor game with sidewalk chalk all focusing on letter recognition.

This morning revolved around review work: we practiced our ABC song and reviewed how to spell our names. For handwriting practice, we worked on our names. The weather kept us inside for free play and snack. We read a Little Critter story, "All By Myself," then it was show and tell! The kiddos did a great job talking clearly about their special items. We asked each other thoughtful questions and practiced being a good audience.

As a preschool teacher, I set goals for myself and the kiddos each year. One of those goals was accomplished today! Each of the kiddos are able to spell their names without any assistance (from me or materials)! Huge gains have been made with the kiddos writing their names independently as well, I'm proud! Today was our show and tell day. The kids really enjoyed showing their special items as well as listening to their peers. We asked each other thoughtful questions and the kids did a great job of clearly communicating about their special items.

Our letter of the day was U. We reviewed numbers 10-20 and I'm happy to say we are very close to knowing all these numbers. We had handwriting practice, free play and snack as we read a Minnie Mouse story. We then talked about Earth Day. The kiddos were shown a picture of the Earth and we analyzed it. What are the blue/green/white parts? What shape is it? Does Earth change? What lives on Earth? What does the Earth give us? We then celebrated Earth Day with an art project. We gathered Earth materials to help us write the word Earth.

Our letter of the day was U (it looks like a big hole). We may have pretended to fall into a hole for about 5 minutes to help us remember this letter, whatever helps them memorize! Today was about having some Easter fun! We started by doing an egg hunt, when we opened those eggs up we found our ABC's! We used this as our handwriting practice for the day. We then had free play, inside today with all this rain! We ate our snack and listened to a book about a turkey trying to enter the easter egg hunt for the kids. We then explored "magical, fizzy Easter eggs!" It was a surprise every time to see what color they would turn. The day ended with our easter bunny craft, complete with dot markers and the "Hop, Hop Slide!"
