This was the last one of the year, but we've still got at least one more 2-day basic class coming up.

4 spots left in this Saturday's CCW permit class

Come get an update on the laws and gain the ability to legally carry on school grounds (21+). Also, 18-20 yr olds must have a permit to carry at all (schools not included).

This photo says more than I could in a few paragraphs. As hard is it may be to look at, it is inarguably REAL.

Compassion is one of our most cherished attributes as good humans and neighbors. It is good we cultivate good morals and genuinely help each other. Empathy is part of what makes us who we are. Our Christian values lift us to a higher level of living.

However, I think we dismiss the hard reality of nature and this world far too often.

Predators simply do not care. For most of the world, you are indifferent. Whether you live or die, thrive or suffer, makes absolutely zero difference to them and isn't even worth a passing thought. You are insignificant.

A close friend of mine pointed out to me that we cannot compare natural predators with humans, the context isn't the same. While I see plenty of truth in that, I believe the analogy here is still the same.

When a person decides to prey on another, they choose to disregard your will to live, your dignity, and your peace. They choose to forcibly take some personal benefit out of you, just like a natural predator has little to no regard for its prey when exchanging its life for its own sustenance. Normally they're not trying to EAT you of course, but I see very little difference in making someone's life forfeit for food vs some other perceived benefit.

When the predator comes, it's up to you. You're on your own.
