We are looking for two more parents to join our Overlake Community Council this year. Right now, we have more staff members than parents, and state guidelines require that our council have at least two more parent representatives than school employees. This is our final request for parent volunteers who are willing to participate. Our next meeting will be on October 8th, and we will meet four additional times throughout the year. Each meeting is only 30–45 minutes, and we keep them focused, efficient, and meaningful.
Who can serve as a parent representative?
In addition to parents, step‑parents, and grandparents may serve on the council. If you support your student’s education and want to be involved, we would love to have you.
What does the Community Council do?
Reviews school data to identify academic needs
Helps create the School LAND Trust Plan
Advises on school goals in areas like literacy, math, and safety
Strengthens school‑home partnerships
Represents parent voice in schoolwide decision‑making
If you are interested in joining or would like more information, please reach out to me directly. Your voice and perspective make a meaningful difference in our school community.
Thank you for your support!
