⭐ Overlake First‑Week Update for Families:
What an incredible first week of school at Overlake! We are so happy to have our students back - their energy, smiles, and excitement have filled our halls in the best way. Students and staff received the full red carpet treatment on day one, and it truly set the tone for a joyful start. And of course, Lenny the Lynx made his big debut! He was a huge hit, bringing so much fun and school spirit to our opening week. We are off to a great start, and we’re grateful for our families' support in making the first week smooth and successful.
⭐ Morning Arrival Reminder
We kindly ask families to remember that students should not arrive before 8:20 AM. We’ve had students arriving as early as 7:45, and we do not have staff available to supervise students before 8:20. Your help with this keeps everyone safe and ensures a calm, supported start to the day.

We are so excited to welcome our students and families back to Overlake in just a few weeks. Our team is already busy preparing classrooms, organizing materials, and planning meaningful learning experiences to make this year a great one for every child.

To our returning families—thank you for continuing to partner with us. To our new families—welcome to Overlake. We’re grateful you’re here and look forward to getting to know you.

Congratulations to our amazing Sixth Grade Graduates! We celebrate your hard work, your growth, and the incredible young people you’ve become. You’ve shown resilience, curiosity, kindness, and leadership - and we couldn’t be more proud.

As you head into junior high, remember that you are capable, prepared, and ready for every new challenge and adventure ahead. Your future is bright, and we can’t wait to see all you accomplish.

Dance Festival Information!

We are so excited and grateful that Deseret Peak High School has offered to host our Dance Festival this year. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 20th at 9:30 AM in the Deseret Peak High football stadium.

I've attached a map for parking information. We encourage our guests to park in Lots A and C and enter through the South gates. Please note that handicap and wheelchair access are available only through the South gate.

You are welcome to park in Lots E, F, G, and H and enter through the North gates, but this will require a longer walk. If parking lots fill up, families may also park along Berra Blvd or on nearby streets. The stadium gates are marked with a black star on the map. Restrooms will be available at the stadium; however, we will not have access to the bathrooms inside the school.

We ask that parents sit in the middle section of the bleachers so that our students can sit together on the ends of each side. This helps us keep students supervised and organized throughout the event.

Students will arrive at Overlake Elementary as they normally do. We will take attendance, then walk them over to the high school as a group. After the Dance Festival, students will remain seated in the bleachers. Parents will need to check their child out directly with their teacher using a checkout form if they are taking them for the day. If they are remaining at school. We will walk them back to Overlake. Grade-level signs will be posted, and teachers will be wearing their safety vests so you can easily identify them.

Please make sure your student arrives on time so we can get everyone over to the high school smoothly.

Join us for Kindergarten Round‑Up on May 19th from 2:00–4:00 PM here at Overlake Elementary. This fun, safari‑themed event is for all incoming 2026–2027 kindergarten students! Help us spread the word!

Come meet our amazing kindergarten teachers and aides, explore the classrooms, enjoy playtime and crafts, and get help with registration. If you haven’t enrolled your kindergarten student yet, please do so as soon as possible -registration and assessments help us build balanced classes and ensure every student is placed thoughtfully.

We had the joy of celebrating a truly outstanding group of educators and support staff who go above and beyond for our students every single day. Their dedication, heart, and commitment make Overlake a better place for kids to learn and grow.
