In Mr. Ingle’s Digital Create class, students explored the intersection of faith, technology, and artificial intelligence through Scripture, discussion, and Pope Leo XIV’s encyclical on AI and human dignity.
Students compared reading and interpreting Scripture firsthand with an AI-generated summary, asking: Which do you get more out of? The conversation led to deeper questions about productive struggle, the dignity of work, free will, and whether technology helps us learn or simply makes the work easier.
Mr. Ingle even pulled up the code behind an AI model to show students how information can be influenced or promoted, reinforcing the importance of questioning what we see and understanding how these tools work.
A powerful lesson in using technology with purpose while forming students who can think critically, ask meaningful questions, and discern wisely.
