Do you struggle to find strategies that work when your child’s behavior becomes challenging? If so, you are not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. Join us this Thursday, Oct. 15 for our "Redefining Consequences" workshop with Dr. David Meichenbaum a licensed clinical psychologist and Clinical Director of the Behavioral Health Clinic at The Summit Center. He will share practical ways to address challenging behaviors and help children build emotional functioning skills. At this workshop, you will:

- Learn the limitations of conventional behavioral approaches
- Discover practical, evidence-based strategies that can reduce problematic behaviors
- Understand what’s needed to develop effective behavior interventions

The workshop takes place this Thursday, Oct. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM in the Kenmore Junior Senior High School Community Room, 155 Delaware Ave., Kenmore, NY 14217 (enter through Door 1). To enroll, call 716-874-8510 or email [email protected].

Attention Families: We're excited to invite you to a special presentation designed to support families navigating questions about attention, behavior, and early childhood development. On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Ken-Ton School District will welcome Dr. Gregory Fabiano, Associate Director of Clinical Training at Florida International University, for an evening titled Understanding ADHD & Early Childhood Development.

Dr. Fabiano is a leading researcher in the field of ADHD, with decades of work focused on developing and testing effective assessments and interventions for children and their families. His research spans parenting strategies, school-based interventions, and practical tools that help families and educators better support children with ADHD, both at home and in the classroom. This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from a nationally recognized expert and gain practical, research-based strategies for supporting your child's development.

This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow, October 1st, is an early release day for all students in Gr. K-12. All students in our UPK program have a regular day of instruction.

While dismissal times are set for 11:20, 12, and 12:25-12:40, It's important to note that each school has their own procedure so please refer to your child's school for dismissal instructions and specific times.

For some of our students, school lunch on Friday is the last reliable meal until Monday morning. This week and next week, our elementary schools will be collecting food donations for Blessings in a Backpack, a program that sends weekend meals home with kids who need them. It doesn't take much to make a difference - just a few items from your grocery cart which you can send in with your child. Here's what each grade is collecting:

- Kindergarten: Individually packaged crackers, pretzels or popcorn
- 1st grade: Individually packaged granola or breakfast bars
- 2nd grade: Individual fruit cups or applesauce pouches
- 3rd grade: Individual cereal bowls or pouches
- 4th grade: Ready-to-eat Chef Boyardee pasta or any brand ready-to-eat soup (not condensed)
