Make sure you're submitting those learning activities Edison students! What a great giveaway next week for our Summer Learning Adventure participants!!!

Did someone say Bills practice tickets?!?!?! Thanks to a VERY generous donation for our Gr. K-5 Summer Learning Adventures, we have an AMAZING item to give away during next Monday's drawing! Here are the details:

Next Monday, we'll begin our weekly drawing by doing ONE spin from the Summer Learning Adventures submission list for the week of August 3-7. That name will have the chance to claim up to four tickets to the Bills open practice on August 18th at 8:30am at the new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park (the tickets don't include the $5 parking fee). If the winner doesn't want the tickets - no problem! That winner will then be designated as one of our weekly drawing winners and can choose from one of our other prizes (like a gift card to a local restaurant or a sports-themed t-shirt for school spirit days). If the winner doesn't want the tickets, then we'll do another spin to pick another winner who can claim the tickets that are still up for grabs. We will still pick two weekly winners for our Summer Learning drawing so if you don't win the Bills tickets, you still have the chance to win some other great prizes next Monday!

A reminder that our students can submit their learning activities up to 2x per day Monday-Friday (one ELA and one Math activity) so you can earn up to 10 entries for next week's drawing! Even if you've already won a prize this summer, you can still win each week - it's all up to the wheel!

Again -- we'll do one spin for the tickets and will then do our normal spin for the other prizes that have been generously donated. Good luck to all our students!

If your child will be 4-years-old on or before December 1st of this year, they're eligible for our free full-day UPK program housed at Hamilton. This program is designed to get your child both emotionally and physically ready for kindergarten as we combine play-based exploration with high-quality, research-backed curriculum programs. Please help spread the word! The Ken-Ton School District will host three school information sessions for Gr. K-12 multilingual families to assist with a variety of topics. This includes bus information, online learning platforms, Infinite Campus, district and school calendars, school readiness, and much more. School faculty will be present to assist with questions and both in-person and telephone interpreters will be available. Sessions will take place Aug. 4 at Holmes, Aug. 5 at Franklin, and Aug. 6 at Hoover. All sessions take place from 3-6 p.m. and visitors will need to enter via Door #1 (main entrance).

Mr. Gattuso and Mr. Whiskers visit Wat Arun, or Temple of the Dawn, in Bangkok, Thailand! It was SO hot and humid, both of us needed a mango smoothie after our visit!

How about YOUR summer? If you and Mr. Whiskers have done anything fun (vacation, staycation at home, etc.) remember to take a pic of the two of you. We’ll tell you how you can send them when the school year starts, and we’ll post them on the Library insta: !

***IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING TOMORROW'S BUDGET VOTE & BOARD ELECTION***

Voting will take place inside the Hoover main entrance along Thorncliff Road. Voters may park along Thorncliff and enter through the main entrance (Door #1). Voting will NOT take place in the Hoover Middle School gymnasium as in previous years, so the Sheridan Drive entrance will NOT be able to be utilized for voting.

Voters will be able to utilize the bus loop in front of the school except from 7-9:15 a.m. and from 2-4 p.m. During these times, voters will have to find parking on the street. Voters are urged to avoid these times if possible. Voters will be able to park on both sides of Thorncliff.
