Watch for School Buses‼️🚌
Washington state law (RCW 46.61.370) outlines when drivers must stop for school buses. On a two-lane road, drivers traveling in both directions must stop when the bus’s flashing red lights or retractable stop sign are activated.

On roads with three or more marked lanes, drivers traveling in the opposite direction are not required to stop. The same exception applies to highways divided into separate roadways. However, drivers traveling in the same direction as the bus must always stop.

Drivers who illegally pass a stopped school bus face a mandatory $500 fine that cannot be waived, reduced, or suspended.

Tonasket School District uses Family Access to update “back-to-school forms,” home and family information, student health updates, address updates, emergency contacts, etc. Please log in to Family Access and update your information before the first day of school (Family Conferences), August 27, 2026. Parents/Guardians must complete all forms before Chromebook checkout. If you need assistance accessing Family Access, please contact the school building office that your student attends.

“We are filled with gratitude for the generosity of our community. And this wouldn’t have been possible without Grant’s Market, who has been an incredible partner with our Tiger Take Home project here at TMS. This project was the vision of our MS counselor, Jen Steinshouer. Something extra magical happened today at Tonasket Middle School!” – Principal Roach

Here’s the letter they gave us today with the HUGE donation:

While shopping at Grant’s Market, Tory saw the flyer for the Tiger Take Home food program. Arriving home, she and I chatted about what we could do to help. We decided to send a request to our friends who come up every Summer for our annual SkyFest gathering.

These friends are Summer Camp counselors (and their spouses) from the mid-70’s who worked at Camp Field in Leavenworth. Following camp, we scattered around the state, many taking on careers in teaching, counseling, business, and mentorships. We’ve been a close knit group for 50 years.

When these folks arrived at our home in Molson, we can’t say we were surprised by their willingness to pitch in. However, we were more than delighted to see the large pile of food brought for the kids.
