Meet MAJ (Ret.) Sean J. Combs
Senior Army Instructor
MAJ (Ret.) Sean J. Combs is a highly motivated, soft-spoken, knowledgeable, and experienced leader who brings a strong background in technology and years of JROTC experience to Toms River High School North.
Major Combs genuinely cares about his Cadets and believes strongly in accountability, leadership, personal responsibility, and high expectations. His commitment to Cadet development extends well beyond the JROTC classroom. He encourages Cadets to become actively involved in organizations throughout the school and to make a positive impact within their community.
Major Combs began his JROTC instructor career approximately seven to eight years ago, serving at two other high schools before joining Toms River High School North. In his first year at North, he has worked alongside SFC (Ret.) Long to provide outstanding leadership, mentorship, and direction while continuing to build and strengthen the JROTC program.
One of Major Combs’ significant contributions this year has been the introduction of Archery to the program. The Cadets quickly embraced the new challenge and have continued to develop their skills. The program is now working toward the goal of competing in its first national archery competition next year.
Major Combs’ leadership is defined by accountability, high expectations, commitment, experience, and a genuine desire to see every Cadet succeed—in JROTC, in school, in the community, and in life.
