Students in both of Mrs. Oldock’s science classes worked together on a hands-on experiment as part of our Unit 3: Human Machine. Using the materials provided, students constructed models of the human eye, including the cornea, lens, and retina, to better understand how our eyes work. Through this activity, students were able to recreate how images are seen by our own eyeballs and connect the structure of the eye to its function. 👁️✨

There will be a 90-minute delayed opening tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 28. Please adhere to the delayed opening schedule. There will be no morning vocational, pre-K, or Y Kids programs. Thank you.

Our “All In” Teacher of the Week is our own Mrs. Coe. She teaches Music and is our Choral Director. Here she is in her own words:
Being “all in” to me means showing up with enthusiasm, heart, and a belief that every child can experience joy and success through music.

“All in” in the music classroom is singing, moving, and playing right alongside my students, creating a safe space where creativity, curiosity, and mistakes are welcomed. My goal is to create lessons that are engaging and active, routines that are joyful and purposeful, and where my students feel seen and valued. Most of all, it means modeling a love for music that inspires students to participate fully and confidently, both in class and beyond.

When I am not at Walnut Street, I love to travel! Two of my bucket list goals are to get to all of the Major League Baseball stadiums (I’ve been to 25 of 30!) and to visit all 50 states (I’ve traveled to 34 so far!). I also perform in the South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble, love to try local coffee shops and spend time with friends and my husband.

One of our Wildcats was interviewed today by some students from High School East's TV21 Broadcast Journalism class. This student went above and beyond on his Exploration Hour Project and even coded a game to go along with it! Keep an eye out for the finished product! So great to see such talent across the elementary to high school levels here in Toms River Schools.
