Individuals interested in participating are encouraged to begin the process now. A New Jersey criminal background check and other paperwork will be required.

A Fresh Start Expungement Clinic will be held Tuesday, October 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The B.E.A.T. Center, 1769 Hooper Avenue in Toms River.

The Displaced Homemakers Program of Ocean County provides free services to individuals who have lost their primary source of income due to separation, divorce, disability or the death of a primary family provider.

Services include career counseling, employment preparation, education and training opportunities, academic advising, supportive counseling and referrals to community resources.

Energy Assistance Day is coming to Toms River on Thursday, September 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ocean County Office of Senior Services, 1005 Hooper Avenue.

Residents can receive in-person assistance exploring programs that may help with home energy costs, including the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Universal Service Fund (USF).

Please bring current documents, including Social Security cards for household members, proof of income for adults 18 and older, mortgage/tax bill or rental lease, and recent natural gas and electricity bills.
