Congratulations to Paul Daley on his retirement from the Toms River Fire Department as a Fire/EMS Dispatcher!

Thank you, Paul, for all the years of service and dedication to our community. You’ve been a familiar voice on the radio for so many of us at Toms River First Aid Squad, dispatching our calls and being there to help get us where we needed to be.

We truly appreciate everything you’ve done over the years. Wishing you nothing but the best in retirement.

TRFAS members recently attended the Holy Name EMS Summit in Bergen County.

The evening focused on better understanding strokes, recognizing them in the field, and learning about the treatment options available at stroke centers. It was also a great opportunity to connect and network with other EMS providers.

A big thank you to Holy Name for hosting us and putting together a great evening of education and networking!

🇺🇸 Remembering September 11, 2001

Today, the members of Toms River First Aid Squad remember all those who lost their lives on 9/11, and the families who continue to carry that loss.

We especially remember the first responders who answered the call and ran toward the danger to help others. Many never made it home.

As an EMS family, we will always hold a special place in our hearts for those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving others.

Our flags are at half staff today in their honor.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

The members of Toms River First Aid Squad are saddened to hear of Mike's passing.

Mike taught several of our members over the years and was known for his knowledge, passion for EMS, and ability to make learning engaging and easy to understand. He made a lasting impact on many providers in our community and will be greatly missed.

Rest easy, Mike.

The Ocean County Training Center regrets to announce the passing of EMT Instructor Michael Winey.

Mike was instrumental in the success of our Basic EMT Program, sharing his many years of knowledge, experience, and passion for emergency medical services with countless students and instructors. His dedication to education and commitment to developing future EMS providers helped shape the foundation of our program and positively impacted the lives of many throughout Ocean County.

Mike’s professionalism, mentorship, and unwavering support will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him. His legacy will continue through the students he taught, the providers he inspired, and the countless lives that will be touched by those he helped train.

On behalf of the Ocean County Training Center, EMS Consultants, our instructors, students, and staff, we extend our deepest condolences to Mike’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Instructor Michael Winey. Your service, dedication, and impact on the EMS community will never be forgotten.

This past Thursday, volunteers from Toms River First Aid Squad (Squad 39) were staged in Lakewood Township to provide EMS coverage during two large community events taking place in the township.

Working alongside neighboring EMS and first aid agencies, including RWJBH Mobile Health - EMS Lakewood Township EMS Lakewood First Aid Jackson Township EMS Point Pleasant First Aid & Emergency Squad Ocean County EMS Coordinators. crews stood ready to provide emergency medical care and support throughout the evening.

We are proud to work alongside our regional EMS partners and assist neighboring communities whenever additional coverage is needed.

After completing a 24-hour shift that included a transport run to Jersey Shore Hospital with the RWJ medics, there is truly nothing better than a fresh cup of coffee from one of our local shops to start the morning. ☕
