What a day. These kids put on a SHOW this afternoon despite having some logistical issues. Couldn’t be more proud.
We traveled to Grayson County to perform and got taken an odd route per our GPS (gotta love technology). This put us about 20 minutes behind schedule. If you know the crazy band director (me) you know I plan everything down to the minute via itinerary. So of course we get there already pushing to get back on schedule. Our equipment trailer arrives with one tire missing and only a rim remaining. So that was fun. All of the AMAZING band dads and our AWESOME bus driver (Darrel Crowe) pulled together to get us all fixed up. Luckily we had a spare and a dad willing to go pick up a second tire at Big O’ just to be safe. Our kids were overcoming obstacles left and right. They had one of the best shows of the season tonight and came off that field feeling.. finally.. proud. We have so much to be thankful for in Monroe. I appreciate you all. Parents, drivers, students, community, you are the best. Tonight will be one to remember. Now, on to regionals next week.
