Project Scarf: Gratefulness Edition.
EVERYONE can participate!

What if I were to ask you to name what you are most grateful for?

What if I were to ask your enemies what they are most grateful for?

My HeartFelt belief is that our answers would all boil down to the same core things. What do you think?

Will you join together with me in an experiment to find out?

Let’s create a super duper long scarf. We’ll think of it as gift wrapping. A giant bow to wrap the beautiful crazy world that is given to us each moment.

Let’s interlace it with words of gratitude, and get as many people, from as many different walks of life to participate as we possibly can.

Let’s use it to build bridges, to showcase our spectacular uniqueness and diversity while honoring our common humanity.

Let’s craft something beautiful and useful together, even with those who think differently than we do.

Let’s showcase it for the world to see...what can we wrap with it? And then let’s dismantle the pieces to distribute to those in need. To warm their bodies and hearts. To remind them that they are cared about, that they matter, that they are worthy of love and belonging. That we are ALL worthy of love and belonging.

I believe that Gratefulness cuts to the core of our common humanity. I believe Gratefulness is a key to clarity of mind. To bridge building. To joy and to a healthier, more peaceful planet.

And I believe that Gratefulness can be cultivated. Help me do that by participating in this community art project.

Knitting is the perfect metaphor, and the perfect blending of process and product. Work of the hands, connecting us across distance and time, an age old craft that combines beauty and practicality.

Knitty Gritty and details of how to participate will follow!!! Not a knitter? No problem! As long as you are grateful for something, you can be a part of this.

❤️❤️❤️

Project Scarf is proud to present People to People with this year's collection of hand knit scarves in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. There WILL be a rainbow after the storm, and love, compassion and dignity are the greatest strengths of all.

So I arrived home to a note in my mailbox that I had a package....package? Hmmm...not expecting one...well -at the post office was waiting for me a huge yellow box filled with 24 gorgeous hand knit scarves. They are so soft and colorful, and even beautifully rolled and wrapped in red ribbon. And sitting on top: a sweet hand knit heart. Thank you so much to the "Knitting Couple" Annette and Alexander...so much loving care went into the creation of these scarves, which will keep so many people feeling warm and loved this winter. Thank you for single (well double!) handedly boosting Project Scarf's fall production!
