It was a fine day for the Yellowjacket Cross Country teams who were both runners up at the Cobre Invitational in Fort Bayard, NM. The Yellowjackets featured six medalists led by individual champion Aiden Werkheiser who won by 50 seconds. We are all super proud of these outstanding young people!

🏈🔥 HUGE NEWS FOR TOMBSTONE HIGH SCHOOL! 🔥🏈

TOMBSTONE, Ariz. — Tombstone High School just scored a BIG win — and an even bigger opportunity could be ahead!

Tombstone High School has officially been selected as a $5K Fridays sweepstakes winner through T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights program, earning $5,000 in funding for the school!

But here’s where it gets REALLY exciting…

🏆 TOMBSTONE IS NOW IN THE RUNNING FOR A FOOTBALL FIELD TRANSFORMATION VALUED AT $1 MILLION!

Head Football Coach Anthony Ciccariello applied for the program with hopes of improving the school’s football field, lighting and technology — creating a safer, more modern facility that reflects the pride of Tombstone and its surrounding community.

And this would be about much more than football.

Upgrades could help Tombstone expand livestreaming so alumni and families can watch from anywhere, attract regional events, support local businesses and create an improved community gathering place for youth sports, graduations and other events.

The competition is only getting started. More than $8.4 MILLION is up for grabs nationwide this year, including:

- $25,000 for 40 finalists
- $250,000 for four division champions
- $1 MILLION toward a football field transformation for ONE grand-prize winner!

The grand-prize winner will be announced November 12.

This is an incredible opportunity for Tombstone High School — and as the competition moves forward, there will be opportunities for the COMMUNITY to get involved and rally behind the Yellow Jackets!

When voting opens, Cochise County, let’s show them what happens when we get behind one of our own!

Congratulations to Tombstone High School, Coach Ciccariello, the student-athletes and the entire Tombstone community on the $5,000 win!

THIS COULD BE JUST THE BEGINNING!
