It's Feel Good Friday in Tomball ISD!

Northpointe Intermediate teacher Emily Adams challenged her students to come up with a way to leave a legacy at NIS as a GT project.

Forever Friends is a student-created project designed to create opportunities for authentic interactions - with no barriers - academic or physical.

Congrats to Emily Adams from Northpointe Intermediate for earning a TEF grant: Forever Friends. This grant will provide additional resources for this student-led group to continue supporting and designing creative activities to be used in the Forever Friends Project. #DestinationExcellence

Congrats to Kimberly Bowman & Megan Weeks from Wildwood Elementary for earning a TEF grant: Digital Art - Stop Motion and more. Through Stop Motion Animation, students will utilize art technology to foster creative storytelling. #DestinationExcellence

BIG Congratulations to our Tomball ISD Destination Imagination Teams!

5 teams from TISD earned first place and will have the opportunity to compete at the Lone Star Finals - State Tournament, held on March 25-26 at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Overall, TISD featured 20 teams across 14 campuses and saw its talent recognized with 24 awards, competing against multiple districts in a multitude of categories.

Scramble. This word pops in my head multiple times in a day. I have 2 students in TVS and am a single parent, that's also unemployed at the moment. I feel grateful to actually have the time to spend with my 2 students, however I scramble just about every day to ensure both kiddos are on task. I will say, because of the unemployment, I don't scramble to get myself ready for work whilst the kids are starting their days, but I really wonder how the rest of parents are doing it, and how I'll get it done when I DO return to work. Both students manage their daily check-in and Warm UP questions during their asynchronous time, but then after-school is when I scramble with them again to make sure an assignment wasn't overlooked. Its helpful when the teachers post the assignments due date and they are organized on the Schoology landing page, but its the easter egg assignments and daily work that need to be uncovered and can only be found by clicking every daily folder. This is the part of the day where I have to dig deep and scramble to review all 14 classes, between the 2 students.
