Hey Tiger Band! We hope you are having an amazing summer! School is just around the corner, and we cannot wait to see you back in the band hall in just a few weeks.

In the meantime, your band directors are hard at work getting things organized and ready for an awesome school year, but we need your help. If you are willing to assist us in getting our supplies for this next year, we would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you so much for your continued support of our program, and we hope to see you soon!

P.S - If your instrument has been warm and cozy in its case since May, don't forget to take it out and shake off the rust before school starts. 😁🎶🎵

Tiger Band, please welcome our new Assistant Band Director, Ms. Genevieve Effler! 🐯🎵

Ms. Effler is entering her fourth year of teaching. Before joining the team, she spent two years as the assistant band director at Twin Creeks Middle School and one year at Bammel Middle School in Spring ISD.

Ms. Effler is a 2023 graduate of the University of Houston (Go Coogs!) with a bachelor’s in Music Education and her primary instrument is the French Horn. She played in the Spirit of Houston Marching Band and Cougar Brass basketball band during her time there, as well as the University of Houston Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble. She is passionate about connecting with students through music and building relationships with students to deepen their musical education.

In her spare time, Ms. Effler loves to read, hike, play video games, and listen to music. She attends a lot of UH sporting events, especially football and basketball games. She also continues her love of playing her instrument through various community bands and gigs around Houston.

We can't wait for you to meet her!

Don’t forget, tonight is our Parent/Student meeting for the inaugural Gold Rush Band at Grand Lakes in the Band Hall! This meeting is for current 8th grade students who will be a part of the Tomball West High School Band. The meeting will start at 6pm. We hope to see you there!

The Honor Band did a great job at the Falcon Concert Band Festival in Katy, Texas this morning! Despite the early morning and unfriendly weather, the students stayed focused and put together an awesome performance, earning a 1st division from all three judges!

There were also several students who received extra recognition for their musicianship today.

Outstanding Sections - Flutes, Trumpets, French Horns, and Percussion

Absolutely phenomenal job by the Honor Band at UIL today! They earned a Superior Rating from ALL SIX JUDGES today! This is a testament to all the hard work they have put in this entire year.

Special note: One of the sight reading judges said “this was by far the largest audience we had today.” Parents, thank you SO MUCH for your unwavering support of your students and showing up today! We feel blessed to make such great music with these students, and it could not be done without you!
