Our kiddos have been having so much fun learning, exploring, and getting hands-on during our themed weeks! 💙

🏕️ Camping Week: We got creative by building our very own pretend campfire using real sticks and watercolor paint! 🔥🎨 It was a fun way to practice creativity, fine motor skills, and imagination while enjoying the spirit of camping.

🦒 Zoo Week: We also had a wild time feeding the animals! 🐒🦓🐘 Our kiddos loved getting up close, exploring, and learning about some paper animals.

We love creating fun, meaningful experiences where our kiddos can learn through play, explore their interests, and make lasting memories! 🌈💙

🇺🇸🚒🚔 That’s a Wrap on Community Helpers Week! 🚑👮‍♀️

What an incredible week it has been at Bright Connections Behavioral & Learning Center! 💙

Throughout the week, our kiddos had the opportunity to spend time with some amazing members of our community who came to visit, share their uniforms and equipment, and give our children a glimpse into the important work they do every day.

From firefighters and military members to police officers and other community helpers, our kiddos were able to experience these visits in their own way—whether that meant participating in an activity, exploring equipment, watching and observing, or simply spending time together. ❤️

For our autistic kiddos, these experiences can be so meaningful. Creating familiarity, comfort, and positive connections with community helpers can help make future interactions feel a little less unfamiliar and a lot more positive.

We want to send the BIGGEST THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to come to Bright Connections, spend time with our kiddos, answer questions, share your uniforms, and be a part of our week. Your willingness to connect with our children means more than you know! 🥰

🇺🇸💙 Community Helpers Week: A Special Military Visit! 💙🇺🇸

This week, our kiddos had the opportunity to spend time with a member of the U.S. Army as part of Community Helpers Week.

For many autistic children, simply sharing space, playing, and building positive experiences with community helpers can be incredibly meaningful. There was no pressure—just opportunities to interact, explore, and connect in ways that felt comfortable for each child.

We're so thankful for our military guest who took the time to sit with our kiddos, engage with them, and be part of their day. Moments like these help build familiarity, trust, and positive associations with the people who serve our communities.

🚒 There were lots of smiles, curious hands, and exciting new experiences at Bright Connections!

Our kiddos loved welcoming Seth from the Warrens Fire Department for Community Helpers Week. They had the chance to explore firefighter gear, try on equipment, and participate in a fun activity together while learning about the important work firefighters do.

Experiences like these help create positive, familiar interactions with the helpers in our community, and we're so thankful for community members who take the time to make those connections.

🚔💙 Community Helpers Week: Thank You, Police Officers! 💙🚔

We kicked off Community Helpers Week with a special visit from our local police officers! Our kiddos had so much fun creating Police Badge Mosaics, meeting the officers, asking questions, and learning about the important role they play in keeping our community safe.

A huge THANK YOU to our officers for taking time out of your day to visit, interact with our children, and share a little about what you do. Your kindness, patience, and willingness to build positive relationships with our families helps create trust, confidence, and meaningful connections that can last a lifetime.

At Bright Connections Behavioral and Learning Center, we love giving children opportunities to learn about the people who make a difference in our community, and today was the perfect way to begin our Community Helpers Week.
