Two minds are better than one! Sharing some fun collaboration between Mrs. Hove and Mrs. Rice!
Students worked on logic and sequencing by using simple coding to navigate a mouse through a maze to get the cheese!
There was choice between utilizing the provided maze diagrams or by creating their own. Some groups naturally went above and beyond by challenging other groups to navigate their maze!
Students worked through mistakes, analyzed errors, made corrections, and tried again until they were successful! 🧀 Way to go, Timberwolves!

🪵🔨 Learning by doing at Tomah Middle School!

Our students are hard at work on their very first Woods Project with Mr. Wildes and Mr. Jacobsen! Students are putting their skills to work as they measure, cut, shape, and assemble their very own wooden puzzles.

There’s something special about creating something with your own hands—and these Timberwolves are learning plenty along the way! We can’t wait to see the finished puzzles come together. 🧩

🍒 CELEBRATING WARRENS CRANFEST AT TMS! 🍒
We decided that if we were going to celebrate CranFest, we needed to do it the TMS way, with a little friendly competition, a lot of laughter, and an absolutely ridiculous number of cranberries!

Today, TMS staff battled it out in our Great Cranberry Clash, playing Rock-Paper-Scissors and wagering their cranberries throughout the day.
And after it was all said and done, we had our champion! Mr. Logan Tracey, one of our 8th grade Science teachers.

He finished the day with an incredible 216 cranberries and earned the official title of 2026 Lord of the Bog, along with a $25 gift certificate to the Warrens Cranberry Festival Official Merchandise Booth.

And we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate our winner than alongside our very own Warrens CranFest Princesses, Taylor Reeves, who also happens to be a TMS student!

We are proud to celebrate Warrens CranFest and the wonderful community that makes it such a special tradition. We love seeing our students, staff, families, and community come together to celebrate where we live and the traditions that make our area unique.

From our TMS family to yours…Happy CranFest!

We are doing somthing new this year at TMS!
September’s Character Trait focus at Tomah Middle School is RESPECT.
🖤🐺💛
Throughout the year, TMS students will be challenged to explore a different character trait each month — starting with respect and continuing with traits such as responsibility, kindness, accountability/honesty, self-control and more.

But our monthly assemblies and classroom small group sessions are about more than simply learning the definition of a word - Staff are giving students opportunities to talk about what these traits actually look and sound like at school, reflect on their own choices, and think about how their character impacts the people around them.

Students were challenged to show respect by using kind and appropriate words, listening when others are speaking, respecting personal space and belongings, following classroom and school expectations, including and valuing differences, and handling disagreements calmly.

And the message extends well beyond middle school. As the TMS presentation shared with students, character will impact their future — in their relationships, their education and eventually their careers.

This month we were also excited to be joined by the High School JROTC, where (Ret.) Col Troy Fox, Cadet Jesse Peterson, and Cadet Izeyah Nauman were able to speak to our 8th graders on the topic of respect.

We’re proud of the intentional work our TMS staff are doing to help our students grow into thoughtful, responsible young adults who are prepared to make a positive impact wherever they go. Howl on!
