Big gratitude to Ben Romalis & Keppie Coutts for their great generous and exultant songwriting spirit and for so lovingly including my book "Songwriters On Songwriting." Best thing I have seen on Youtube all day!

They are both songwriters and songwriting teachers, and even at the great The Songwriting School of Los Angeles - where I have also been blessed to work, thanks to Rob Seals. (MUCH more on this to come.)

Thank you for this - made my Easter Sunday especially joyful - see you up songwriter road soon I hope.

Hey all, it's been a pandemic minute! So many of you have been up to so many good deeds and so much good music. We want to get back to shouting you out again.

Today marks the video premiere of "The Ballad of Suaqui" from our own Music By Mary Lou Fulton, a beautiful and moving song honoring her family and the citizens of a town flooded and lost when the Mexican government built a dam in the name of progress.

Mary Lou recorded this song and her full-length record here in our studio, backed by some top shelf musicians and first-rate humans: Joey Heredia (Stevie Wonder, Herb Alpert), Andy Abad (Jennifer Lopez), Sean Hurley Bassist (John Mayer), Derek Jones (Nickel Creek), Mark Stepro(Jakob Dylan & the Wallflowers), Carl Byron (Jackson Browne), Ken Oak (Meg Myers), Ryan Brown (Foreigner), Annette Adler Music, and more. Produced and mixed by Rob Seals.

The ten-song collection 'We'll Tell Stories' will be released next month. Congratulations, Mary Lou!

We realize that our total inactivity on here means only three of you will see this, but here's wishing you three well in these trying times. The Songwriting School of Los Angeles has continued our mission online in these COVID days in fully interactive classes, and one lovely positive has been our ability to include people outside of LA meaningfully over Zoom--both students and teachers. And thus I am able to share an amazing resource on The Beatles and invite you guitar players to check out a Zoom class taught by one of the great musical minds I have ever known, Bill LaFleur, lead transcriber/arranger for NBC's 'The Voice' and many years with Hal Leonard Publishing. He is teaching a Saturday afternoon class called The Beatles for Guitar. You can watch a video of a great workshop he did last weekend and view his amazing handouts--including an arrangement of "Penny Lane" for guitar. I'll share below. We open A SPRING TO SING at The Songwriting School with the great Paulette McWilliams, who toured or recorded with Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Lauryn Hill, David Bowie, Celine Dion, Dolly Parton. Wow! She is leading her 4-week vocal performance workshop Vocals from A to Z, starting this Monday. Watch video of her below with the great Marvin Gaye!
