This video is of another builder that had an idea for a project that required using one of the most difficult tools to master. Using a coping saw takes much patience, careful following of the blade as you follow a curve. Amelia made a few practice cuts then took to her project. She did a great job!

Our final day of our 4 day woodworking skills camp with life skills sprinkled along the way ended Friday evening at Teutopolis Unit #50 Schools for the 4th and 5th grade students. These young builders all did great. Kudos to parents and teachers alike!

Day 2 progress report ….. some completed projects and pictures showing young builders committed to work using some tools that require patience and concentration along with a gentle effort to master the process. One making a shield- a ROUND shield - a Captain America shield. Take a look at the pictures.

BenchWorx Day 1 at Teutopolis Unit #50 Schools — a fantastic start to this fall camp! Take a look at the pictures- see the determination, the young designer/builders in action. Notice the book, yes a young builder brought a book he has owned for several months with a detailed drawing of a project……more to follow on this one.
Look at the pictures and imagine with me what is being created this week! Learning to measure (one builder spoke in decimal language- as a 4th grade student- and he brought the receipts- he knows his stuff!)
This is so enjoyable! Note to parents- your young builders are doing great!
