Thank you to the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department for being an amazing partner and helping DART incorporate its first ever peer support specialist! Making history at Lucas Co. DART: Woman joins drug abuse prevention team that helped save her life From going through drug addiction, to helping people start their own recovery journeys, coming into work every day is a full-circle moment for Krystin Poulson.

Last Saturday, we held our 2nd Operation Bridge event at Uptown Green Park. We want to thank all of our community partners that weathered the chilly temperatures with us to make this another successful event! We had approximately 100 individuals stop by and were provided with resource information, hygiene kits, harm reduction supplies, and some food and water. Thank you to the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Toledo-Lucas County Health Department, Mental Health & Recovery Services Board of Lucas County, and the Toledo Lucas County Homelessness Board for planning this event.

Today, Lt. Steve Rogers, D/S Shawn McMahon, and Founder / CEO of Team Recovery, Matt Bell, were honored to be speakers at the National Conference of State Legislators Overdose Prevention Seminar. We spoke about the work being done in Lucas County, the partnerships that drive this work, and the passion that Lucas County has for treatment and recovery. We spoke to state representatives and their aids from across the country about the importance and impact that deflection plays in our community. We also shared statistics from deflection / QRTs from across the state, and how Ohio has been a leader in this space thanks to the Ohio Deflection Association. We want to thank NCSL for this opportunity!

Today, Lieutenant Steve Rogers was recognized as the recipient of the First Responder of the Year award, presented by the Mental Health & Recovery Services Board of Lucas County.

Lt. Rogers was honored for his leadership and dedication to the Drug Abuse Response Team (DART), a program focused on connecting individuals struggling with substance use to treatment, support, and recovery resources.

Through strong partnerships and a commitment to serving the community, DART continues to make a meaningful impact across Lucas County. This recognition reflects not only Lt. Rogers’ efforts, but the collective work of the team and community partners who are dedicated to addressing addiction and supporting recovery.
