🚨𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐠 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤… 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧🚨

We have no patience for these scumbag scammers. They prey on hardworking people and hope fear will get them what honesty never could.

Unfortunately, we’re warning everyone about another scam making the rounds in Tama County.

Today, a resident reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be calling on behalf of the 𝑻𝒂𝒎𝒂 𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒚 𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒕. The caller claimed the resident had missed grand jury service and even knew the resident’s name and home address. He sounded professional and tried to make the call sound legitimate.

Thankfully, the resident trusted her instincts, hung up, and contacted the Sheriff’s Office.

𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫:
The Tama County Sheriff’s Office and the Tama County Clerk of Court are not going to call you out of the blue claiming you missed grand jury service and ask you to provide personal information, record your voice, or resolve the matter over the phone.

These scammers are good at one thing: creating fear. They want you to panic before you have time to think.

𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬:
• Hang up.
• Don’t provide personal information.
• Don’t send money.
• Don’t record your voice.
• If you’re unsure whether the call is legitimate, contact the Tama County Clerk of Court or the Tama County Sheriff’s Office using a phone number you know is legitimate.

Please share this post so your family, friends, and neighbors know about this scam. The more people who know what to watch for, the fewer victims these scammers will find.
